Buckinghamshire County Council is working with the Environment Agency and the Freshwater Habitats Trust installing 25 leaky dams in 6 tributaries of the river Leck upstream of Leckhampstead, a village prone to flooding as recently as 2016. The confluences of these tributaries are within 1km of each other, which means that flows at the village can increase rapidly following an event and flooding can occur with little warning.
